Shedding Skins

My Shedding Skins dream paintings, executed between 1983-1991 reflect the beginnings of a healing journey away from a 1969 mental illness and a ten-year course of anti-psychotic drugs. I commit to healing my mind, to heal my body from the drug side effects and to paint record of my dreams as I heal.

In 1998 my Shedding Skins dream art was permanently installed in the main lobby of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto. The art and its accompanying text appear in Committed to the Sane Asylum: Narratives on Mental Wellness and Healing, Appendix 1, p.223-229.
